Why I Care

In high school, I was in charge of a Colorado-based and only youth-led search and rescue team in the US called the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol. In college, I worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Walmart, then moved to be a salesman for a food company, took an internship at Disney World and was a Character Performer (Goofy, Woody, Beast, etc) and then finished working in the IT department at Colorado State University as a Systems Engineer. Upon graduating, I found my next long-term career. Everyone has a unique story when it comes to their career journey.

For the last 10 years, I have been recruiting. I have placed over 250+ people into new jobs, 150 of whom are executives (Directors, VPs, and C-level). My journey has allowed me to connect with over 6,000 fascinating people during my tenure. I feel as if I have earned multiple MBAs with different concentrations in entrepreneurship, marketing, leadership, and product development. Each person I have a meaningful conversation with has been another class assignment on my syllabus.

I want to share their stories with everyone. When I started my career, I believed in a motto: “Making dream jobs a reality more than just a fantasy.” With this podcast, I hope others can begin their career journey with confidence

What is
my
Job

In college, I discovered my passion for technology while working in the IT department, but I realized that coding every day wasn't for me. I loved technology, business, and connecting with people. Luckily, I found a role in Technical Recruiting, which beautifully blends these interests. Now, with 10 years of recruiting experience—mainly in Executive Search—I specialize in finding top-level executives (Vice President, SVP, and C-level+) for technology companies backed by Venture Capital, Private Equity, or publically traded.

In my role at SPMB Executive Search (ranked #1 by Forbes), I manage a team dedicated to sourcing and placing high-caliber talent for my clients. What sets me apart in this field is my diverse experience, earning me the title of "Polymath." and the nickname "Sherlock Holmes and Bloodhound of Executive Search." Essentially, I have placed every C-level position (CEO, CTO, CPO, CRO, CMO, CCO, CHRO, CFO, etc.) across various sectors, including FinTech, Consumer, E-commerce, CleanTech, InsuranceTech, HealthTech, MarketingTech, and Retail (to name a few). I often tell clients I approach my search practice like a stereogram or optical illusion. My objective is not just to show one perspective but to reveal the entire spectrum of potential candidates.

People are complex, as are the roles needed in business. When we successfully close a search project, we've done our job well if we provide candidates with diverse backgrounds and skills, allowing our clients to see the full scope of possibilities. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that both clients and candidates find the perfect fit that drives success for their businesses.

My Values

Creativity

Try all angles to solve a problem

Say the idea that sounds the craziest…something might come from it

Try the idea; it's worth a shot. To be optimistic

Inspiration

I need to be inspired and motivated

I need to feel like I am inspiring and motivating other people.

Challenge

I need to be inspired and motivated

I need to feel like I am inspiring and motivating other people.
